Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Background: Canadian K1

Short story: My husband and I went for my AOS interview and it was a breeze, even easier than my K1 interview in Montreal.

Long story: Our appointment was at 1:45 pm. We arrived at 1:00pm. We showed the security guard our appointment letter and passports. We proceeded through security which is similar to an airport with a conveyor belt for your shoes and belongings and a metal detector.

I showed a secretary my interview letter and he set it aside and told us to take a seat until someone called us in. We waited about 15 minutes I think until a man called out my name. My husband I followed him to his office where we took an oath.

We gave him our IDs which he took and photocopied. He removed the I-94 from my passport.

He asked me some questions but spent most of the time on his computer or shuffling papers around. This is what he asked me:

-my full name, date of birth, place o... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

Background: AOS from Tourist status - Canadian visitor with no I-94. We crossed the border in June of 2006, were inspected and did go through secondary screening after which we were approved for entry. After we decided to give living here a shot we got an apartment, found my wife a job and got things stable. After speaking with USCIS they informed us that I could adjust my status without having to leave. We started researching and filed in February of 2012 - our case was given a priority date of February 29th.

Throughout the process I received no RFE\'s.

What I brought: I made a folder up that contained -
- copies of all our forms of ID - Passports, state ID\'s, broth certificates etc. as well as the originals.
- joint bank account info, joint insurance card, joint lease document.
- pictures spanning our 6 year marriage, correspondence, Facebook page printouts, Costco cards, honeymoon tickets, ring receipts and photography contr... read complete review

Interview:

We were booked for 9:30 AM. We showed up about 10 minutes early. There was one couple in front of us in the security line and about 20 people in the waiting room - not all of which were there for interviews (several were getting information at the windows).

We waited until about 9:35-9:40 and a gentleman probably in his 50\\\'s called my name.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We were scheduled for an appointment with an exact time.
I believe it was 9:30 am.
We were there on time but had be sitting in a waiting room with about another 20 people until our name is called (my wife's actually). About 45 minutes lasted and then the interviewer - a lady in her forties - came out the door and asked for my wife. We followed her to her cubicle (yes, it was a cubicle) and sat in front of her desk. The interviewer was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. She did not ask us many personal questions. She was mostly checking the documents in the file. She asked if we can add more. I had originally sent them multiple supporting documents, including numerous bills and statements with both names on them. After she asked us, I pulled out the latest statements of a couple of bills and handed them to her.
She smiled and said that everything looks good. She said my wife Kristina was approved - both applications (I-130 and I-485) were immediately approv... read complete review
